An ancient Chinese proverb says "If you want happy all night, drink wine. If you want happy during a few weeks or months, marry. If you want to love forever, keep bonsai ".
In an ancient mythology in mainland China, there is a magician that is able to conjure any magic into a small, including large trees and panorama around it. The tree is stored and displayed in a condition of life as a miniature. Then miniature is known as bonsai.
Planting bonsai done in shallow pots, called the bon. The term bonsai also used for traditional Japanese art in the maintenance of plants or trees in shallow pots and appreciation of the beauty of form branches, leaves, stems, and roots of trees. This plant is very popular in cherry country, Japan.
Basically, the bonsai is a miniature plant or original tree in the real world that is moved to above the smaller medium. This plants or trees is dwarfed in shallow pots with the purpose of making a miniature of the original tree shape. The shape is strong and balanced between right and left branches, front and rear as one unified whole. Bonsai teaches philosophy of maturity of age. The age of bonsai is older, its value is higher.
If height of original trees in the earth reaches 2-5 meters, so the height of bonsai in a shallow pot becomes 15-100 cm. Based on plant height from the base of the stem to the top of plants, bonsai are grouped into six categories as follows:
1. Giants : tree height more than 101 cm.
2. Very large : tree height between 76-100 cm.
3. Large : tree height between 46-75 cm
4. Medium : tree height between 31-45 cm
5. Small : tree height between 16-30 cm

Commonly, the dwarf plant has trunk that is bend. However, this plant has power of attraction. Public interest in this plant for its unique and beautiful. In addition, the bonsai has a high art. Many people make bonsai as one of the collection to decorate the house. Bonsai are often used to decorate the living room, working room, or family room. Its existence also beautify the garden. Nothing wrong if this plant is favored by many people, not only women but also men. Besides as a home decorator, the plant is able to make fresh air. Although classified as special plants and high prices, these plants are not always synonymous with the rich people.
The lack of bonsai is making of plants require a long time. There are many things to be done related to the making of bonsai, including fertilization, pruning, crop establishment, watering, and replacement of pots and soil.
